Module 1

Income / Expense Analysis

Upload your bank or accounting export and get 5 interactive financial dashboards generated automatically.

01
Line Chart

Cumulative Income vs Expense

This is your financial big-picture dashboard. It plots two running cumulative totals — income and expense — as separate lines across the full date range of your data. The growing gap between the two lines is your net surplus over time.

  • Green line = total income accumulated month by month from the start of your data
  • Red line = total expenses accumulated over the same period
  • The vertical gap between lines = your net surplus at any given month
  • Hover any point to see exact cumulative totals for that month
  • Summary cards below the chart show total income, total expense, and net balance

Bar Chart

Month on Month Analysis

A side-by-side grouped bar chart comparing income and expense for each month across your data range. Each month shows two bars — green for income, red for expense — making it instantly clear which months you were ahead or behind.

  • Grouped bars per month — green income bar beside red expense bar
  • Horizontal dashed average lines for both income and expense across all months
  • Months where expense exceeds income are immediately visible
  • Hover any bar for the exact monthly total and variance from average
  • Net difference (income minus expense) shown in summary cards per month

Pareto Chart

ABC Pareto Analysis

Based on the Pareto principle (80/20 rule), this dashboard ranks your income and expense categories from highest to lowest and groups them into A (top contributors), B (middle tier), and C (tail). It reveals which categories drive the majority of your financial activity.

  • Categories ranked by total value, descending — bars show each category's total
  • Cumulative percentage line overlaid — see where 80% of total is reached
  • A-tier: top categories making up ~70–80% of total income or expense
  • B-tier: next tier contributing up to ~95%
  • C-tier: long tail of small categories — often candidates for simplification
  • Separate charts for income categories and expense categories

  • One row per unique account in your data
  • Columns: Total Income / Total Expense / Net Difference / Transaction Count
  • Colour-coded net difference — green surplus, red deficit
  • Sortable columns — click any header to rank accounts
